Jakdojade

For Jakdojade, a search engine for city and intercity public transport connections in Poland, we ran a complete digital product process from mobile app design to development.

We designed the app as a simple journey flow where users type where they are going and compare routes by duration, transfers and walking. By bringing ticket purchase and departure tracking into the same flow, we gathered every stage of the journey, from planning to arrival, in one app.

We developed the app for iOS and Android and connected it to a shared infrastructure that works with the same data as the web. As a result, users get the same route and departure information in the app and on the web.

Jakdojade route detail screens: departure times, transfers and walking times

How Jakdojade works

  1. Chooses a journey type

In the first step, the user chooses between city public transport and intercity travel. By shaping the following screens around that choice, we designed a flow that offers only the relevant options for each type of journey.

  2. Compares routes

The user picks their location and destination on the map, then sees the departure time, journey duration and transfers in a list. By adding the line’s next departure to the same list, we let users compare routes at a glance.

  3. Tracks the journey and ticket

Intercity services are listed with station, time and weather information. By placing ticket purchase and the tracking of departure and arrival times on the same screens, we let users manage their journey from a single flow.

Design language

With a white background and dark text, we presented dense timetable information in a clean, readable structure. By reserving yellow for ticket and accent buttons only, we put the user’s main action first on every screen.

  • #F8C848 Yellow Ticket and accent buttons
  • #1B1F24 Dark Text and icons
  • #F5F6F8 Light grey Card and map background
  • #FFFFFF White Screen background
